Meet Captain Tom Mailey

Growing up near Puget Sound with a dad and an older brother who fished, Tom Mailey can't even recall the first time he held a rod. He has fished Northern California waters for salmon and trout for over 30 years, and started Get The Net Guide Service in 2020 because he loves introducing folks to the sport.

For 32.5 years, his regular job was being the "Tom" of the "Pat, Tom and Cody Show" on New Country 105.1 KNCI. He retired from radio in May 2025, and his gig now is out on the water full-time. When you step aboard with us on the Sacramento River, Folsom Lake, or Collins Lake, we'll have all the rods, reels, bait, and tackle ready, including 7-foot ultra-light spinning rods when you want an extra thrill.

We run half-day boat trips (up to 5 to 6 hours) seven days a week, plus two-hour shore fishing lessons within 20 miles of Roseville. Children under 12 fish for half price, veterans and first responders get 20% off weekend trips, and gift certificates are available. A $70 deposit holds any boat trip and is refundable if canceled within 24 hours of the trip.
